How we take care of leathers and suades. we are professionals. we do our best to ensure your garments are kept in the best condition.
Care Begins at Home
If staining occurs, take the garment to a professional suede and leather cleaner as soon as possible. Do not try to remove spots at home.
Don’t fall into the trap of having your leathers cleaned when you bring them out of storage at the end of winter. A final leather cleaning before your garment goes into storage will prevent: food sugars oxidizing the dye color; protein stains reacting with the hide; and insect larvae and mites from eating the hide.
Wear a scarf or collared shirt to protect the collar area from perspiration and body oils.
Leather is subject to drying out if exposed to dry heat and to mildew if stored in a hot, humid environment.
If the garment gets wet, let it air dry away from heat. Store leather garments in a cool, ventilated area.
Do not store leather in a plastic bag – as it encourages discoloration and sometimes mildew.
Laundry Shirts
AT CARLYLE CLEANERS WE HAVE A STATE OF THE ART SHIRT PROCESSING EQUIPMENT WHICH TENSIONS WET SHIRTS WHILE DRYING THEM WITH THE USE OF STEAM AND AIR. THE EQUIPMENT ALLOWS FOR YOUR FRESHLY LAUNDERED SHIRT TO LOOK FRESHER AND STAY SHARPER ALL DAY.

Starch shirts according to your preference
Return shirts on hangers or folded

No use of hot irons insures no risk of damage, shrinkage, or dye run
Note: shirts must be cotton or cotton/poly and be a size and shape that fits onto our automated shirt equipment. Other items (fitted tops, stretch fabrics, etc) are charged at our hand finished prices
Wedding Gowns
At Carlyle Cleaners we examine every gown, establishing the most suitable method of cleaning. Inspections are made at every stage of the cleaning and preservation process. Each wedding gown receives special and individual handling, with attention given to every detail.
Heirloom Preservation
Our newly designed Museum Style storage boxes feature state of the art moisture and oxygen control technology. Traditional wedding gown storage boxes do not protect or guarantee against oxidation or ‘yellowing’ of the gown. Our advanced system guarantees that your gown will be as good as the day you wore it down the aisle.
Here’s How
Your gown is carefully sealed in an acid-free inner box that controls humidity. The oxygen is purged and replaced with an inert gas, virtually making oxidation impossible. Our sealed packaging allows viewing of your gown and veil at any time, while protecting your precious items from mold, mildew, insect damage and oxidation. The inner box is placed in a durable long-term storage chest for additional safety.
A Bride’s wedding dress is her treasure. A properly preserved gown preserves the dream of passing it down to a daughter or close family friend. While a gown may be worn just one day, and may not appear soiled, it will require careful cleaning. Hidden soiling includes perspiration and body oils. Long gowns will pick up soil along the hemline and train and often, there will be food and beverage spills. Some stains, which are not immediately visible, will develop with age through oxidization causing discoloration, fabric weakness and damage to the gown.
